Curacao Cemetery: Morada Santa - Bottelier 05/07/16—11/07/19
A modern upscale non-denominational cemetery, still in use, and located in the Eastern part of the island. There is much marble in the crypts. Many graves bear chinese characters and names, and many graves have Papiamentu text. It is by far the most landscaped cemetery on the island, with trees and plants throughout the sprawling grounds. Reportedly, several prominent authors in the Papiamentu language are buried here. There is a large memorial to 'Doktoor Moises Frumencio da Costa Gomez (1907-1966)', with crypt, large bust, and panels, all on a raised platform. The earliest burials noted were mid-1970s.
